What to include

Bugs in a simulation game are often about the specific state your save is in, which means a report without details usually cannot be reproduced or fixed. If you can, tell me:

• Which game, and the version number (find it on the game's title or settings screen)
• Your device and OS version — for example, iPhone 15 Pro on iOS 18.4
• What you were doing right before it happened
• What you expected, and what happened instead
• A screenshot, if the problem is something you can see

If the game crashes on launch or a save appears to be gone, say so in the subject line. That moves to the front of the queue.

Common questions

Where is my save data?

On your device, always. Beyond that it depends what you have switched on: Garage to Glory can sync to your own iCloud account, and Four Stripes can keep a copy on a server I run if you turn cloud saves on. Both are off unless you choose them, and neither sends anything about how you play — only the career itself.

I deleted the app. Is my career gone?

If you had no backup on, yes. Deleting an app removes its local data and nothing I hold can bring that back.

If Garage to Glory had iCloud sync on, reinstalling and signing in to the same Apple ID should restore it. If Four Stripes had cloud saves on, entering your recovery code on the new install brings the careers back.

What is the recovery code, and what happens if I lose it?

When you turn on cloud saves, your device makes up a long random code and shows it to you. That code is your identity — there is no account, no email, and no password, so nothing else connects those careers to you.

If you lose it, the careers are unreachable, and I cannot get them back for you. That is not a policy I could waive if I felt sorry for you. What is on the server is filed under a one-way hash of your code, so without the code there is genuinely no way to tell which saves were yours — not for me, not for anybody.

So keep it somewhere that survives losing the phone: a password manager, a note that syncs, a photo of it in your camera roll, a piece of paper in a drawer. Anywhere except only on the device the careers are on.

If that makes you uneasy, use the other route as well. Any career can be exported to a file from inside the game and kept wherever you keep things — that copy needs no code and no server, and it opens on either platform.

Is there an Android version?

Where a game has an Android build ready, there is a button on that game's page to request alpha access. The alphas run on Google Play and are invite-only — you email, I add your Google account, and from then on the game installs and updates through the Play Store like any other app.

Send the request from that button rather than writing here, because it prefills the one thing I need: the Google account address to attach the invitation to. Places are capped by Google at 100 per game, so if a game is full I will tell you.

Can I request a feature?

Yes, and it is genuinely useful. I cannot promise anything makes it in, but requests from people actually playing shape what gets built next more than anything else does.
